I live in a dutch colonial house with a overhang. I have rabbit ears , however reception is poor, not getting at least 20 channels. I thought antenna had to face south, The rooms in my house are all chopped up, Is this the reason I'm having trouble getting good reception and more channels. Do I need an outdoor antenna?

Solution
Outdoor antenna sit higher, are less interfered with such things as houses, trees etc and are rather large, unlike your rabbit ears which are much smaller and interfered by things such as household wiring, walls, doors and surrounding buildings.

Yes, you'll get far better reception from the larger, outdoor antenna, which can be split amongst several Tv's, where as rabbit ears are pretty much bound to the TV they sit on.
