HP EliteBook 8460p 141 LED Core152520m 1TB HDD 8GB. I bought it refurbished from Staples.com but it freezes EVERY time I try to play Sims 3 and Sims 3 Late Night I downloaded on it. I can't even finish creating a sim.

Solution
The Intel HD 3000 in the i5-2520m should be able to play the Sims 3 with low settings as I have seen people do it. If the laptop has Windows 7 or 8, then try downloading most recent graphic driver from the following link. Be sure to select the correct version (32-bit or 64-bit) for windows.

I recommend you download the zip version not the exe version which automatically installs the drivers. That is because manufacturers usually have custom version of the Intel HD graphic driver installed on the laptop. That will prevent the exe version from installing the drivers giving you some type of "hardware not supported" error.

See video below on how to manually install...

If the laptop is running Windows 10, then you should allow the laptop to search for and install updates.

If doing the above does not fix the problem, then you should do a system restore and then do the above steps to install the most current Intel HD drivers. Then install the Sims 3; just the base game. If you can actually play the game, then install the expansions.

If doing the above steps does not fix the problem, then return the laptop for a refund.
