Is it likely that a laptop with the new gtx 1080 maxq technology will come out in 15.6 inch?

I'm in the market for a powerful yet light 15.6 inch laptop and I just recently noticed the emergence of the max-q laptops. I found a nice msi one that is very light but features a gtx 1070 which I've heard is pretty much a desktop gtx 1065. I've heard the gtx 1080 maxq, however, performs better than a desktop 1070 so I would much rather have that with my laptop if it were possible to fit that into a 15.6 inch laptop. So basically I'm just wondering if you guys think it is likely in the near future to have a light 15.6 inch laptop with a gtx 1080 maxq come out and if I should wait for that or if it is not possible for that to happen because maybe the gtx 1080 maxq is too big for a 15 inch laptop and I should just pull the trigger on the 1070 maxq laptop? I like to play games like gta v and middle earth shadow of mordor, and overwatch pretty much all games and I would really like to play them on higher settings.
Thanks in advance!!!

Just bear in mind that a laptop with the GTX 1080 Max-Q will not be as powerful as a laptop with the GTX 1080. Max-Q lowers the performance of the GTX 1080 to keep it's thermal output down. Therefore, the performance difference between a GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 Max-Q may be relatively small. You will need to search for reviews that compares laptops with those two GPUs to find out. They may or may not exist yet.

oh ok thanks! Do you think thats the lightest a laptop with a gtx 1080 can be? or do you think it's possible that another one might come out that is as light as the new msi gs63vr? Because I am wondering why it is that there is a big weight difference. Is it because of the 1080?

The GTX 1080 is more powerful than the GTX 1060. That also means it produces more heat than the GTX 1060 and needs a beefier (and heavier) cooling system.

To my understand, Max-Q is basically nVidia's cooling design specifications laptop manufactures needs to adhere to in order to have a tweaked GTX 1080 (slightly lower clock speeds compared to GTX 1080s used in other laptops) that can be cooled effectively enough in a thin and light laptop.

Oh ok now I'm just wondering if the 1080 maxq takes up more space/ is heavier than the 1070? Because I can't decide between the lighter gs63vr which features a 1070 at 3.96lb or if I should wait for the possibility of a gtx 1080 maxq of around the same weight? I just don't know if that will ever happen and if d be waiting for something that wasn't possible.

Thanks for ur input! I've heard that the gtx 1080 maxq is basically a 1070 desktop and the 1070 maxq is similar to a desktop gtx 1060. I'm just wondering if you think it's possible that a laptop with a gtx 1080 maxq could come out that is as light as the msi laptop with a gtx 1070 maxq which is 3.96lbs
