So, I bought my laptop back in May of 2015 and it's always run really really badly for the kind of laptop it is. I have to put games like Metal Gear Solid 5: TPP to Low everything same with GTA5 or really any game with graphics that aren't complete trash.

Specs:
ASUS ROG GL551 Series GL551JW-DS71
Windows 10
Nvidia 960M
16GB RAM
i7-4720HQ

I really wanna fix this, please help...thanks.

It's using the 960M or at least that's what Nvidia Control Panel says

It does warm up when games are running, and no it's not overheating or anything like that.

Kind of hard to say without more information, so you're seeing general advice. What's the CPU and GPU utilization during games? When you say "bad performance" how many fps are we talking about? Is it a stable fps, or does it bounce up and down a lot? Are the laptops fans coming on when you game? Does it behave differently on batter power vs plugged in?

When I say bad performance I mean around 20-35 FPS on Lowest settings, yes the fans come on when I game and yea if it were on battery power I'd have even LOWER fps
