Hi all, I have an Acer Aspire V3 572G-54S6. I recently did a full reinstall including a hard drive format of windows 10. This particular laptop has a Nvidia 840M. I also installed the latest drivers from Nvidia for it. My issue is that whenever I leave the computer on, the display will shut off, but the battery and power lights remain lit. When it does this, it will not turn the display back on, and an external display doesn't work either. The only way to turn it on is to press and hold the power button to force it to shutdown, then press it again and it will boot normally.

Update: I put my computer to sleep last night. I installed the Intel display driver (from Acer) and checked device manager. No issues. Now, my computer did the same thing. Display off, unresponsive, power and battery lights both solid blue (normal behavior for it being on).

so the issue is resuming from sleep only?use crystal disk info and check your hdd status

Sorry for not replying. I ran crystal disk info, it says my disk health is good. None of the USB ports are receiving power, despite the fact that I disabled the "let windows turn off this device to save power" option which should make them stay on when the PC is asleep. It's almost like it's in this limbo where it's in hibernate but not turning all the way off. I suspect this because I've forced it to shut down by holding the power button, and then when I turn it back on, it has hibernated, just hasn't turned off all the way. I have experienced this same problem with a different PC (a Toshiba) so I'm not sure if I have a software issue or if it's just PEBCAK.
