A few years ago I took apart my e305 since I got a new laptop. Recently I put to together again, which I found very challenging. When it comes to powering up the machine, the power button lights up and then after a second goes away, the caps lock key flashes, but no sounds, no nothing. No fans, no screen.
It wont power an external display, and it cant be used as a display for another computer.
