I need an optical splitter that gives me both an optical and a digital output. I'm hearing impaired and have a transceiver for my hearing aids that uses an analog cord. I need the optical output to go back to the TV so my wife can hear it at the same time. Thank you for any help.
 
Solution
If your TV requires the TV speakers to be turned off to activate the optical output you will need to split the optical output. Send one output to a soundbar (for your wife) and the other to an optical to analog converter to connect the transmitter for your hearing aid.

Thank you for the information. It sounds like I'll need two different things. An optical splitter to pass through to the sound bar and another one to process the sound from the splitter to go to my hearing aide link. Can you give me the names of some of the items I'll need. Thank you...

If you look at the circuitry, optical s/pdif is nothing more than an LED stuck across the regular coaxial digital so it's really easy to convert between them. But it does look like your hearing aid transceiver accepts analog, not digital.
So you'll need an optical splitter like this:
