That can happen if the card was specifically formatted to the other device or even encoded.
Try leaving the SD card in the camera and then connect the camera to the computer via USB. It should then allow you to see the items and move them over to an empty folder on the computer.
If they still don't show, it may be the file format is not recognized by the computer or the files are 'hidden'.
