Hi guys!

Can someone recommend a headphone/headset (no mic required) under a 100 bucks? I live in the Netherlands, so prices may differ from country to country. Please recommend headsets/headphones that are widely available, because in the Netherlands, the spread of hardware from small companies is quite small. For example, I can't even find a Biostar motherboard in the leading hardware store of the Netherlands.

My main priority of specs would be sound, then comfort, then looks. If possible I would like the headphone/headset to have an open back and preferably the colour scheme red and grey (just grey or black is fine too). Surround sound would be nice, but not a requirement. I will use it for primarily gaming, but also for listening to music.

I have already been looking around and the Corsair Gaming VOID RGB (USB Dolby 7.1) seems very nice. Is it any good?

Anyway, I would like to hear what recommendations you have for me. Let me know, and thanks in advance.

You can also google for "best gaming headphones 2017" etc. and read the comments.

Some of the better ones have a DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) and use USB, but ideally the unit is separate. By that I mean it connects via USB to the computer and converts audio to a STEREO 3.5mm headphone. So the headphones can be regular stereo headphones and then connect the INCLUDED DAC if you want virtual surround.

(I do not like headphones with multiple drivers. I prefer a single, larger driver per ear which gives better bass as well)

The DAC can thus create "surround sound" though the sound may be worse in some ways due to the processing but the advantage is ideally a more 3D sound (useful for shooters and other games).

It's nice to have the option of using the headset both ways. (you may have to manually switch "PLAYBACK DEVICES" from the audio icon between onboard audio for the 3.5mm, or USB audio for when using the DAC).

I don't have an opinion otherwise.

OTHER:
Make sure the OHM rating is within the sound card/onboard sound specifications. Doesn't apply if USB (or other digital) only analog connections.

The VOID headphones appear to be WIRELESS?

UPDATE: there are two Wireless models under the "VOID" heading. The cheapest one is NOT wireless and simply uses USB (DAC) or 3.5mm stereo without the DAC

I think it says they can be Wireless, USB, or stereo (stereo means don't use USB DAC as I describe above). If wireless that means a battery. That probably adds to the cost, so there may be cheaper headphones if you don't want that.

THESE were mentioned (as was the VOID). are different colors: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/tZL7YJ/kingston-headphones-khxhscprd
