Camcorder with mic input?

Hi :)

I bought a Zoom H1 and it's on it's way.

Now figuring out which camcorder to buy (I'm on a tight budget and in my country electronics are very expensive).

Questions:
Camcorder with vs. without a mic input.
If I connect the Zoom to the camcorder through the mic input, I think I would not need to later sync when editing. But does this produce a file with diminished sound quality?

I keep reading how tedious it is to sync audio + video files (because you have to sync not just the start of the recording, but a few times throughout).

You see I am confused about every aspect here.
Camcorders with mic input are more expensive than ones without. If connecting the Zoom and thereby creating one file that has no need for syncing + the audio quality is not diminished, it seems the extra cost of the camcorder would be worth it . . .

Thanks so much, May

Solution
This is not a perfect solution but it is an inexpensive one. Try using a clapper board at the beginning of your shoot while having the audio recorder and camcorder running. It could be something as simple as making a loud clapping noise or slamming two books or blocks of wood together at the beginning of the recording. This would give you a good reference point to start syncing the audio.

What is absolute most you are willing or able to spend on a camcorder? It's hard to help without knowing the budget limit.
