I'm a high school teacher who is being assigned to the morning announcements broadcast next year. It's an uphill trek. The current program has been attempting to stream the school announcements over the web, but too few teachers are on board with the rigamarole of double-clicking on this and that during each busy morning. I'm thinking that there must be a good way to tap into the school's PA system and do the announcements without having to ask anything of the other teachers. The trouble is, the only way I know to make a PA announcement is to dial in through the phone system. I don't want to have students reading the announcements into the phone. Is there a way to set up a simple sound booth to transmit audio from a mixer into a telephone jack over a school PA system? I'd appreciate anyone's insight. Thanks.

What you can do depends on the PA system and how the school is wired. Yours is not tied into a microphone in an office? You need to dial a # to connect to it through a phone only? While you may not know how to hook into the system, there must be someone that does, IT staff, maybe even the custodian, or the company that set the thing up even if they are still around.
