Hi ,
I want to buy laptop for college use ( internet browsing , writing on word , powerpoint , youtubes ... )
I found one is good for me but it come with 2 configurations first one ram 4gb for 450$ second one is ram 8gb for 550$
Do I really need to pay 100 $ more for extra 4 gb rams ? according to my use ?

Solution
Due to the way that memory is addressed, a 64-bit O/S with 4GB RAM will have less 'room' than a 32-bit O/S with the same RAM. If you aren't going to go over 4GB, then a 32-bit version will yield more performance when having lots of open tasks at once.

W10 is light-years better than previous versions with low RAM - we provide 4GB machines to schools and businesses all the time, no problems for general use. Certainly I wouldn't pay $100 for the upgrade - just do it yourself later if you have a 64-bit O/S

Hello... If you want use ALL those programs at the same time... then the "extra" ram will do a better job at it with the OS and hardware.

A new 4 GB stick of ram should NOT cost $100... if you purchase separately and install it yourself. B /

You need to verify you will get a 64 bit OS with the laptop to use 8gb of ram too.

Hello... "Bit" size determines the "maximum" amount of addresses or programmable options... 32 bit can only address ~4GB of ram... so you will need a '64 bit OS to address over 4GB 's of Ram.

Not having a 'extra" user upgradable Ram slot would not be my choice in a "Laptop" purchase... can you post the website of this laptop for us to examine for you?
