Dear all,

I've been suffering from Dell Inspiron 5558's touch screen not working. The problem all started when I turned it off once at Human Interface Devices of Device Manager in Control Panel. After some time, I went back to look for HID-Compliant TOuch screen but couldn't find it on the list. Later I found out that it has been hidden and somehow got to see it. But the right click didn't give me "Enable" option. The properties were showing it working properly. But It was not working.
So, I uninstalled it. The troubleshooter ain't finding any missing drivers. The touch screen driver, though, is missing. I want to reinstall it. Please help me)
Sending my regards.
PS. People may think it's because of Windows 10. But no, the touch screen was working fine in Windows 10. Until I TURNED IT OFF.

Solution
Being a Dell, somewhere on the case, possibly under the battery, there should be a label with the unique reference your achine was given in the factory. If there is no label, look in BIOS and it's published there.

Input that reference into the Support page of your country's local Dell website and you'll be led to the drivers for the specific parts that went into your laptop. It's the safest place to get Dell drivers.
