I have a Dell Inspiron 7559 Signature Edition laptop which I've owned for almost an year now. As of two days ago, the touchpad stopped clicking. You can still tap to click and multitouch gestures still work, but you can't physically click on it anymore. Pressing down on the pad used to make a click noise and the bottom was separated as left click and right click. The right click side presses in without a sound now, and goes in further than is normal. Please advice

Sounds like something is either loose or broken inside. If you have had it less than a year, contact the manufacturer about a repair as it should still be under warranty. If it has been over a year either you can try and fix it yourself or taking it to a local tech.

Unfortunately, the warranty is now expired. If I were to attempt repairing it myself, how complicated would the process be?

I opened the service hatch and attempted to disassemble the device only to find out the screws for the battery are a different kind. However, during my tinkering around in there the touchpad seems to have somehow miraculously fixed itself, and I have no idea how. Thank you for your responses, regardless.
