Solution mcnumpty23 Jun 9, 2017 it could also just be a fault in the ribbon that connects the bottom half of the laptop to the screen to check if its the graphics chip connect it to a monitor or tv if the pictures ok there then its not the chip might have to toggle fn+ another key to display externally usually fn +f4 or f5 but different manufacturers may use a different f key
