cpu upgrade HP dv5-1170el

I would like to replace in the HP DV5-1170el notebook the CPU Intel Core2 duo t9400 with Intel Core2 Extreme qx 9300. Both processors use the same socket and therefore the replacement seems to me possible apart from 10 watts of power over the QX9300 processor. But the real problem is whether the bios will recognize the processor or not.
can someone help me?

make certain your cpu uses socket 478 not 479. http

Hi,
I checked the socket and can confirm that both the socket and the chipset are compatible. As I mentioned, I doubted whether the bios would recognize the quad core or not. Unfortunately someone says that:
The Quad will work as a Quad if its finally starts with it. There is not enough power in the socket to fuel that thing. The QX9x00 is one of the most powerhungry chip I've ever worked with. Back in time when I got it it was in a MSI GT628. With even the 60W vga the system sometimes suffers from not getting enough power from the 120W brick, there was a constant powerdraw from the battery aswell. The 45W is an Intel statement that could be higher in certain scenarios. For example OC@3.7GHz.
Has anyone tried it? What is said, about processor consumption would not run the bios, , and quad core work only on motherboards born to the quad core, is true?
