So I have a practically new Acer V5-571P touchscreen which I removed the motherboard from the case and replaced it with a V5-571PG (also touchscreen but with an i7 instead of an i3 and also with a GPU, a 660 I believe) motherboard. The laptop will power on for about 10 seconds and then suddenly just dies.

What could be the problem and can it be resolved? Thanks!

Question from kerryh : "Is an acer V5-571 compatible with a V5-571PG motherboard?"

Hi, I have removed my defective V5-571-6891 motherboard from the laptop. I have received a functional V5-571PG motherboard to replace it. If I very carefully remove all of the case components, keyboard, and wiring, etc... from the mobo can I replace it with a better V5-571PG where the PG indicates a touchscreen and dedicated GPU on the mobo already.

I'll note that the CPU and GPU are already attached to the replacement mobo so those parts will not be reused. But memory, wires, anteannas, wifi card, SSD, power button and wire going to the mobo, etc will be reused.

Will swapping out the mobo work? or are the two so different they will be incompatible? Thanks in advance
