I need a laptop with a quadro gpu. I wanted a MSI but MSI doesnt offer a 17" monitor laptop with a p3000 quadro. They do have the following with a 15.6 display. MSI offers a 17" with a quadro M2200. They offer a 17" with a P5000, but im not dropping 5$k.

Im needing this workstation for solidworks and flow simulation. Does anyone have experience using the quadro P3000 vs the M2200? I believe it will make the most difference with post processing. Ive been looking at AVA where you can buy and customize a MSI, HP or Lenova.

Another subject...What happened to docking stations? They seem to have gone extinct.

MSI WS63 7RK-290US, 15.6" Full HD eDP IPS-Level, Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 32GB DDR4 Memory, 512GB M.2, 2TB HDD, NVIDIA® Quadro P3000 6GB, Windows 10 Pro $3000

Im not a big HP fan, but HP does offer a nice setup. HP ZBook 17 G4 1NL44UT#ABA 17.3" Xeon E3-1535M v6, NVIDIA® Quadro P4000 Graphics 32GB DDR4 Memory, 512GB M.2, 2TB HDD
$3350

If anyone can offer some advice on a system, Xeon vs i7, quadro m2200 vs P3000 and docking station solutions, I would appreciate any feedback.

A desktop 8 core machine would be the best bet, but I have to stay mobile.

If you are looking for docking stations, Lenovo, HP or Dell workstation models should all have good docks for them. If this is for business use not just school, I suggest the highest spec you have a budget for. First, less time waiting for stuff to run, render. Second, in 3 years if the software and projects get more demanding, the laptop will keep up with it better.
