Was the laptop recently upgraded to Windows 10? Is this the first time you've tried connecting this particular laptop to this (or any) TV set, or tried connecting this (or any) laptop to this TV?
-- Problems occurring after a recent upgrade or installation of updates could be do to said upgrade/updates. Best test is to attempt to roll back to the pre-update state, & see if the problem still occurs.
-- If the problem happens with different laptops (or your laptop connects just fine to other TV sets), then it could be the TV (bad port, not meant to display from a laptop, etc.).
-- If the problems happens when connecting to other TVs (or other laptops work fine with the TV), then the problem is with the laptop. Try rolling back recent updates (if very, very recent), or if you haven't updated it recently then make sure it's updated. Also make sure your drivers are updated.
