I have 5 5.1 speakers and a woofer. I need to figure out what I'll need to hook them up to my computer for surround sound. I'd like to hook these up to my computer although I'm not sure what I need to do so. I have 5 speakers, the woofer, a remote, my computer, and the wires attached to the back of the speakers and woofer. Someone please let me know what I'll need weather it be a cord or adapter please help.

You need an amplifier to connect the speakers and the computer to.

If the speakers only have bare wires coming from them, then you'll need an amplifier that accepts bare wire speaker connectors. You really need to know what speakers they are so you can get an amplifier that matches the power limitations of the speakers. You will also need to determine the best audio output from your computer and make sure the amplifier accepts that type as an input.

What kind of speakers you have - passive (five boxes, with bare wires hanging off them), or active (there's a central box where all other speakers connect to, and this box plugs into power outlet)?

What kind of wires can be connected to the active box, if so?
