My wife and I will be moving soon to a location where we will be maintaining goats, chickens, pigs, bees, as well as a plethora of vegetables and fruits. We wish to chronicle our new adventure in the form of a podcast. I would like to spend no more than $500 for a laptop that can manage the audio editing and mixing required. If it can also perform light video editing (1080p) that would be a bonus.
We currently have a NAS box for our on premise file storage and we use 3 services for cloud backup so we'd opt for a small SSD over large HDD. I'm not against refurbished machines. I've been working in IT as a systems analyst and am confident in my ability to keep an old machine alive a bit longer. Any suggestions?
