More cores for faster multi-tab browsing...?

The main thing slowing down the performance of my laptop is when I have multiple internet browser tabs open simultaneously. I know there are better ways to manage this. But aside from those, would it help to get a laptop with more cores, like a quad-core i7? What about a lower-lever quad-core AMD? What else helps for this - larger cache, RAM, hyperthreading, clockspeed? Thanks.

Solution
I've got a Haswell i5u and a Sandy Bridge i7 QM laptop (4-core).

The i7 will blow it away in multi-tab browsing...almost NO effort at all for that to load 10+ tabs, while the i5u seems stressed and near 100% at times.
