What does Application Optimal Mode in Intel Control Panel do?

With respect to your system there may be other factors involved. Perhaps some component or software that is not supported, some conflict being created by the setting being enabled.

Generally if there are "side effects" just turning off the "optimization" should return your system to normal performance.

Then, if still interested, you can do some additional research and reading to determine if you can indeed truly make tweak work as advertised.

All too often such things are more marketing related than really doing all that much for the end user.
