Personally I'd just buy a dedicated set of active 5.1 PC speakers with amp built in to the sub-woofer unit. Would save a lot of hassle and you won't have to find space for a separate amp near your PC (not to mention all those extra speaker wires coming from it).
May be you could find a buyer for those HT speakers?
