TV not supported by any IR android app

Hi guys, found a 46inch Sherwood TV someone threw out to the curb for trash day that was working well but it did not come with a remote and has terrible overscan resulting in the edges of the image being cut out (cant see tabs in chrome or the taskbar in windows). I downloaded almost every single IR remote android app (my HTC One M9 has a built-in IR blaster) but none of them have this TV in their databases.

Is there anything else I can do? Maybe program it my self? Or will I have to purchase a remote for it?

Many of these older brands like Sherwood have been bought up by other companies (Sherwood is now owned by Korean parent company INKEL). Your TV was likely sold under several brand names. It's hard to tell which one to try. You might find success with remote programs from the same manufacture but sold as different brands. I had to do this with printer drivers with a machine at work. I took me a hour before I lucky and found a page listing equivalent models. Without a remote to program with you may be out of luck.

Now that you mention it, it's worth a try. If I can't find anything I'll make sure to give you best answer, thanks again!

Thanks Spike your advice worked, after an hour of searching through TV brands and Models I found a Haier model that works just right. Thanks again!
