Plugged In Not Charging keeps coming back

So, this is a relatively new laptop (Lenovo Y520) and it has served me wonders for what I need it to, including school work, video editing, gaming, etc. However, there is this issue that I've been experiencing, which is the all to common 'Plugged In, Not Charging' battery status. Now, the most common fix is uninstalling the battery drivers. I do that things, and it fixes it-- at least for a day. The next day, I'll run into the same issue. Given that uninstalling/rebooting the drivers fixes the issue, I feel comfortable knowing it isn't hardware related. However, is there a more permanent fix for this? I've become aware that it only seems to happen when I have the laptop plugged in for long periods of time, running an intensive game. Could that be the reason, and it's just blocking charge temporarily to save the battery from becoming overloaded?
