  • Acer Laptop Aspire E5-774G-52W1

    Intel Core i5 7th Gen 7200U

8 GB DDR4 RAM (I will upgrade to 32 later)

    256 GB SSD

    NVIDIA GeForce 940MX (Built in)

    Windows 10 Home 64-Bit

Would it be possible to build an eGPU for it, is it compatible?

Solution
You really need something like a Thunderbolt connection to support an egpu. The fastest output on this machine is USB 3.0. You can get a USB 3.0 to DVI active adapter, I use one myself, but it will be nowhere near fast enough for gaming.
