I have a LG 47LB5900 TV and a Onkyo tx-sr353 reciever. Just cut the cord with Directv and now use a OTA for locals. Problems is how do I get TV sound through the reciever. TV does not support HDMI ARC. Have tried digital optical cable to no avail. Tried RCA cables, also still can only get local channels audio through tv speakers. Everthing else, Fire stick and Sony Blueray play through reciever of course using HDMI cables. Have also tried connecting HDMI from tv to CAB/SAT on reciever to get audio through that output, still nothing. Any help would be appreciated

Solution
The TV doesn't have analog audio outputs so you must have tried to use an RCA input which can't work.
The optical cable should work if you turn it on. Check the TV manual for how to use it.
You would usually need to assign the connection on the Onkyo (say optical 2) to an input (such as TV or Video 1) to get it working.
