I was connecting my home theater into my LG TV via optical and realized on my fire stick that it was mono audio. So I grabbed my laptop and plugged it in and went to manage audio devices. When configuring TV audio it only displayed 2 speakers (my front left and front right) under a stereo configuration and it didn't see my subwoofer dispite it working just fine. I don't know what is wrong and I can't find something in settings which can fix it (perhaps it's a problem with my reciever) but I do know something is wrong.

Does the HTS work correctly with other sources connected to the TV?
If it does then it may be that the fire stick sees the TV as your audio device and won't pass 5.1 to it. Not sure you can change that. You could try using an HDMI input selector with audio extraction to derive a 5,1 audio source. The switch would have a 5.1 - 2.0 switch so you can fool the stick.

It it doesn't work then check the audio menu of the TV. Change the audio output type.

My reciever has 2 settings (stereo and six channel) and no matter what it plays out of the back left on the fire stick but it I select 6 channel then no audio plays out so I think the problem is that my TV doesn't have 6 channel audio support because I can't find output settings on my TV
