1. What is your budget?
$500 to $1000

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? Lightweight, 11 to 13 inch screen, easy to carry on trips.

3. What screen resolution do you want? No idea.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Portable, very portable. Have a larger laptop and a big desktop.

5. How much battery life do you need? 6 - 8 hrs maybe?

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Do not play computer games.
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
I do a lot of photography work and I also have to decide on a new editing program since Google did away with Picasa which used to be my main editor.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? That is one of the questions. I am retired, but I have a lot of documents from my work years. I save articles, write articles and save photos, of course.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
I am 69, it might be my 'forever' since I keep them for a long time anyway.
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
I don't know about those qualities.
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
HP I have had a lot of over the years. I am working on a Lenovo right now--Think Pad. I have had Dell.

As already noted, I save documents, pictures, read and write. Do photography.
