Just received a Norton popup that a threat was detected and blocked. Looking through security seems like Norton blocked this threat before.

Details of the threat.
Attacker URL
getmysoftware.info/files/59/projecte.dat
Attacking Computer
81.171.14.67, 80

Solution
As an extra precaution, I ran Adware Cleaner which removed a few extra things from registry but doing so messed up windows to where I couldn't login(only other user appeared at log in) and windows kept rebooting 2min after reaching login screen. After multiple failed system restores, I finally got the issue resolved by repairing windows from Windows installation media. So far the threat hasn't appeared.

It's probably a website that tried to download a file to your computer, but Norton stopped. To be safe, run a complete scan, and if you have nothing, then everything should be ok.

Just got done doing a scan with malewarebytes(free) which found no threats. I will do a complete scan with Norton next. A few days ago Norton blocked a torjan.gen but said no further action was nedded.

Well if it blocked it,you should be good. However, still run that full scan. Make sure you stay away from pirated sites, and pirated software. These are known to have trojans and malware.

That's easy as I never use pirate sites or pirated software.

OK I just rescanned with Hitman Pro, the first scan never finished as windows decided to restart and install updates. Wasn't at my computer till this morning so the scan was put off. The only thing Hitman Pro found was some junk related to my brewers. Also I checked Norton history and it seems Norton blocked the same attack yesterday. So hopefully Hitman Pro solved the problem.
