We have a Samsung Series 6 Flat Screen TV, a Spectrum/Brighthouse Cable/DVR Box, and a Blue Ray Player that connects to speakers. If we have the cable box on we can hear through the speakers, when we use the DVD Player, we can hear through speakers, but when using TV only for movies through Amazon, Netflix, etc- no sound through speakers. I have HDMI cables from Cable to TV and from Blue Ray to TV, then also have optical audio from tv to Blue Ray. What are we missing? I have tried all the settings.

Check to see if your TV has an ARC (audio return channel) this will be printed above or below one of the HDMI inputs on the back of the TV. This means that the sound FROM your TV DIRECTLY will be sent back to the A/V amp when watching the apps on the TV and play through the speakers.. By the sounds of it, you have an all-in-one Blueray A/V combo. (speakers plug into back of player?) This unit may not have the matching ARC feature. You may want to check if this unit has ARC (look for same ARC printed around the HDMI output on the back of the Blueray player)

If all this fails, you need to get a feed from your TV to the sound source. I.e an optical cable from TV to sound source.

If you fail on all this, just put up the model of the...

If you fail on all this, just put up the model of the player that has your speakers connected to it, along with the exact model of your tv, and i will look for a way to solve this for you.

Hope this helps!
