I don't use any of those. I've used Norton in the past but it's renewal subscriptions are a rip-off in my opinion.

I use Comodo, I've used it for years - - no viruses, no hacks, no malware at all - - ever.

Antivirus on it's own or AV + Firewall (Comodo Internet Security, that's what I use) - - both free:

Why pay for protection?

The free Comodo has never let me down, every bit as good as Norton - - so why should I pay for Norton etc? No thanks

And Norton renewal may be only a few dollars in the States, but here in England it's much higher than that I can tell you, even through Amazon UK -- we didn't get the name "rip off Britain" for nothing. Don't assume that low prices Stateside are the same in Europe - they're certainly not.

Why is free? Because according to PC Magazine is rated 3 out of 5 stars their virus protection is actually weak against viruses. And No Web-based protection against malicious and fraudulent URLs. If you think is as good as Norton you are nuts :)

NORTON PC Magazine review: 41/2 out of 5 stars

PROS
Excellent scores in independent lab tests and our own tests. Powerful intrusion prevention. Norton Power Eraser blasts persistent malware. Password management. Website rating. Antispam.

CONS
Tech support limited to self-help and community forums. First malware scan can be slow.

BOTTOM LINE
After a few years on hiatus, Symantec's standalone antivirus is back. Norton AntiVirus Basic earns top scores from the independent labs and in our own tests. It's a winner.

COMODO PC Magazine review: 3 out of 5 stars

PROS
Perfect score in our hands-on malware blocking test. Automatic sandboxing of suspect programs. Behavior-based malware detection. Virtual desktop and secure browser. Attractive new user interface. Free.

CONS
Failed to detect hand-modified malware samples. Dismal score in malware-download test. Independent lab test results sparse and poor. No Web-based protection against malicious and fraudulent URLs.

BOTTOM LINE
The free Comodo Antivirus 10 has a new look, and it aced our hands-on malware blocking test. However, it didn't do as well on other tests by PCMag or the few independent labs that have evaluated it.

Check out AV-comparatives for some real-world testing:

https://www.av-comparatives.org

While you're looking through your options, keep in mind you don't necessarily need separate programs for AV, anti-malware, firewall, etc. For example, along with "traditional" AV, even the free version of Avast goes way beyond the basics to help prevent even against zero-day or unknown malware (with the option to upgrade if you need a firewall, anti-spam capability, etc)
