Solution
First of all, make sure you did not insert ribbon cable upside down.
Secondly go back and reseat the ribbon cable. It is so easy for it to be out by a 2-3mm and it not be immediatly visable to naked eye.

After that then it is possible you damaged the ribbon cable. Between my Wife and I we have had a K53 and A53 laptop which share the same parts and the keyboards on these (as well as most other parts) are pretty easy and inexpensive to source online
its possible you may have damaged the ribbon cable when removing or reattaching it to the mobo. aslo make sure that the cable is fully seated properly. if you have damaged the ribbon cable you will have to replace the keyboard, as the ribbon is attached to the keyboard.
