Get sound out surround sound when plugging laptop to LG tv

Hello World!

I have searched the forum but didn;t find a solution to my problem.

I have a surround sound system plugged to my tv with a scart. When I watch tv the sound goes out the surround sound system perfectly bu when I plug my laptop with a HDMI cable to the tv the sound goes out of the tv speaker and I would like it to go out through the surround sound system.

The tv is a LG 42PT353K-ZG and the sound system is a Genius SW-HF5.1

The reason being is that the laptop is sending the sound to the tv via a digital feed, and the sound from your TV to your sound system is analogue. If you would like the sound from your AV system, then you would need to connect the sound from the laptop, via the headphone output direct to your AV system. Use a 3.5mm jack to RCA lead.
