Hello, first time poster here. This seems pretty simple but I'm lost.

I have a Gigabyte
GA-H170M-DS3H and a Pyle PT588AB. I want to connect the onboard audio from the Gigabyte (black/orange/green?) to the RCA jacks (white/red) on the Pyle. I have no idea how to do this.

Pics for detail.

Solution
Given what's currently available:

Stereo Only: Gigabyte GREEN jack (fronts) to PYLE AUX 1-3.

Surround and Stereo: HDMI (either GPU or onboard) to PYLE HDMI 1-4.

i'm not saying you can't do this but .... there are much better ways to connect. Do you mind me asking what you are trying to accomplish? For instance, are you wanting the sound for movies, games etc and are you wanting to send the video to a TV or projector?

>What video card do you have? Can you use HDMI for audio ?

I'll be using the MSI - Radeon RX 480 8GB ARMOR 8G OC. It doesn't look like it has any audio pass through which is why I'm looking at onboard now.

robert600, I intend to use the PC for the purposes you said; movies/tv/gaming. I feel like I should have asked before pulling the trigger on the receiver. For audio I want to use Polk OWM3 speakers for their form factor, and already have a pair. I also have a Blue Octave Home FS8 sub already, no center and no rears OWM3s yet, so I'm all ears for suggestions (can't find a single OWM3 only pairs.)

I'm more than happy to return the receiver but the OWMs I'm sticking with so I need a middle device to turn the PC audio to something that uses banana plugs.

Am I wrong in thinking that motherboard has onboard hdmi? If so, hdmi from there to input of receiver, hdmi from output of receiver to TV or projector .... get the speakers (i'm very happy with my Polks). Turn everything on and tell windows to use the onboard graphics etc. and be prepared to be blown away by some incredible sound!

Would I be wrong in thinking that the stereo only: GREEN jack etc. would be of much inferior quality as opposed to using hdmi?

Also with the 'either GPU or onboard' ... there is some concern that the GPU may not allow audio pass through - given that, wouldn't the onboard be better?

Awesome guys thanks, I was scared that those rca cables were going to be rough. robert600, I think jsmithepa was just confirming what you said for onboard HDMI OR GPU pass through if supported.

I knew there was going to be some interesting driver configs but didn't realize it would allow me to put video through GPU HDMI and audio through onboard HDMI.

Restricting my answer to OP getting on first base. Once system makes sound let him decide what is "better."

HDMI is HDMI, whichever works.
