So Monday I was using the laptop and it was fine then I shut it down and went home , only now I'm greeted to just a black screen nothing else works.
What I tried so far :
1. I originally thought it was the screen. I tried a VGA monitor. Doesn't work.
2. I thought it was a faulty lid sensor since it now seem like its in a closed state, saw online that removing the magnet in the screen bezel would make the laptop remain in a open state, that didn't work.
3. Tried checking both RAMs if they were at fault. Tried them one at a time. Didn't work.
4. Got a new bios battery nothing.
5. Tried seeing if the hard drive was at fault. No improvement.

I'm out of ideas, the only thing that happens when the power button is pressed is the power lights come on (In the button and near the card reader, charge light comes on as well) and the fan starts that's it. Please help

Well if the fan is going then it is probably on, and just the display isn't. If that is the case, try the following...

1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off).
2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop.
3. Turn on the external monitor.
4. Turn on the laptop.

NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.

If you can see fine on the external monitor, then your attached display, or the ribbon cable that connects it, are your problem.

If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem, which may require the motherboard be replaced.

tried both nothing, what I've notice is the lights beside the power button no longer light up one is for the WiFi and the other is I assume is the hard drive (its three disc stacked on each other) which makes me question the lid sensor still.
