I lost my laptop 3 month ago, and now i need replacement for my univ and work. But at the same time, i need one that hopefully can replace my computer which is i3 4130 with 8GB RAM (my work now require me to moving around a lot, so less time at home). I don't use discrete card in my computer that much, since integrated GPU can run almost all games that i play up to medium setting.

1. What is your budget?
Around Rp. 4-5 millions, max at 6 millions if it really worth it.

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
At least 14 inch, but i welcome bigger screen

3. What screen resolution do you want?
1366x768 is minimum

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
I hope something that can be my desktop replacement, but that's a bonus

5. How much battery life do you need?
I don't mind even if it only 3 hours, since my country have free power plugs everywhere.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
At least can run game like World of Warships in medium setting (w/o heat problem if possible)

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Mostly i do programming stuff and light image editing

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
I don't think i need big storage, but i plan to buy separate SSD for it if it comes w/o SSD

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
I don't know much sites as reference, but some are :
enterkomputer.com
rakitan.com

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
As long as possible, my first laptop still alive until today, and my lost laptop last for 4 years and still alive too

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Optional, i don't quite need it, but i can use the slot for HDD expansion :p

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Everything except Axioo is acceptable. Axioo products are too fragile.

13. What country do you live in?
Indonesia

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
I have some laptop as consideration :
Asus X550ZE-XX033D -- AMD A10-7400P, 4GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, DVD±RW, WiFi, Bluetooth, VGA AMD Dual Graphic R6 + R5 M230 V2G
Lenovo Ideapad 100-14IBD -- Intel Core i3 5005U-2.0GHz, RAM 2GB, HDD 500GB, Intel HD Graphic
Acer Aspire E5-475 -- Intel Core i3 6006U, 14", 4GB DDR4, 500GB, DVDRW, Nvidia Geforce GT 940MX 2GB

Solution
Yeah, the E5-475, with the GT 940MX, seems like a very nice deal at around 300pounds~5.000.000 Rp, at least in terms of UK prices.

But if you are really trying to get the best deal possible, maybe it would also make sense to ask in some local Computer forums. They are more likely to know the exact prices. Or to wait until someone with more experience in Indonesian prices answers here.

However you decide, good luck and enjoy :).

I am really not aware of the prices etc. in Indonesia (I assume that's where you are, from the currency), but I did a quick conversion, and I think you are looking for a 250-300 pound laptop.

I can only give you advice (and even then maybe other can do better) on what you could buy in the UK with that money. Note that in the US you could buy better with the equivalent, and in some countries worse. So, take it with a grain of salt.

The best I have found in that price range is
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-VivoBook-X555YA-XX119T-Notebook-Processor/dp/B01GIHQIW2/ref=sr_1_21?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1493892840&sr=1-21&th=1
with this alternative
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-VivoBook-X555YA-XX119T-Notebook-Processor/dp/B01KN6TE2U/ref=sr_1_21?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1493892840&sr=1-21&th=1
being, I think, worth the added 50 pounds. The better CPU and 4GB ram is worth that much, simply by part cost. But that is your call.

The Acer Aspire E5-475 that you have quoted, seems better, due to the GPU. BUT!, when I looked for that model, it did not have a dedicated GPU and was 390 pounds.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Aspire-E5-475-14-Inch-Notebook/dp/B01MYA8806/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1493893373&sr=1-1&keywords=Acer+Aspire+E5-475
So, my link is NOT worth it. If you can find what you have described for 300 pounds, than yes. It is worth it.

Other 2 candidates are:
http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=1BX04EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB at 300 pounds

and

http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=F1W85EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB at 330 pounds

Again, I would say that the 2nd is worth the added cost, but your call.

You should check the system requirements of the programs/games you want to run, and see if they match the specs of the Laptop. But I think they all should be able to run it.

Finally, have you considered buying a factory refurbished Laptop? (I would not buy a used laptop from ebay, but a factory refurbished laptop by, say Dell or HP, should not be a big risk. I think.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply, and sorry but i can't find the Asus model in my country, but i'll use the spec for future reference. And about refurbished laptop, i've considered it before, but by reviews and forums around it looks like refurbished laptop quite hard to get around here. So for now i'll lean to the E5-475 (and yup, looks like the model with GPU only available to some countries).
