Hi Team,

i am a new home owner looking to install some speakers in my bathroom for some occasional background music.and i found a lot of these on ebay/amazon

https://www.amazon.co.uk/BATHROOM-BLUETOOTH-AMPLIFIER-B425BL-B2/dp/B01E8NFB80/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1493632895&sr=1-4&keywords=bathroom%20ceiling%20speaker%20bluetooth

Me, having no experience and knowledge in sound do not know if they are good enough for my build, hence my post asking you to approve my purchase.

What else can i go for? My requirements are:

1. no big amplifiers, pref integrated or small that can be placed in ceiling.
2. bluetooth
3. not extremely expensive
4. Electric must be compatible with EU (Malta)

They're made to connect into the lighting circuit.
Either always on or switched on with the light.
Obviously you could install a seperate switch but that's extra wiring.

Edit - looked at the second link & it clearly comes with a 3 pin plug 12v transformer , which means you'll either have to buy an inline 12v box to wire into the circuit or run a plug socket somewhere in the ceiling.

Seen kits that come with these or run off mains voltage .

wouldn't a portable solution be ideal here?
I use a gallon ziplock bag and a portable bluetooth speaker (truffol) for bathroom and kitchen use. the ziplock baggie keeps humidity off the unit. in any case its a temporary solution until you can find the ideal and you may have it already.

this kit looks to be the same but with some reviews and lower price

Looks good to me, is designed for it, has everything you asked, go for it.

I have but a single BT thing in the bedroom, but if my house had multiple BT play points I would want to ask what prevents my kids for accidentally pair their smartphones to the wrong BT player and annoy the heck out of me? Don't have the answer but if multiple, I would ask that.

A portable solution would need more attention by charging it a couple of times a week. i wanted something fixed and can be left there forever.

To be honest, these should have a passcode to connect and the display name can be changed. Also, i need to connect this to the electricity somehow, i was thinking of creating another wall switch for it, seeing as how i have no idea what to connect it to.
