My laptop has better fps when unplugged than when plugged with or without battery. I've checked my advanced power plan settings and battery and plugged in are both in the same settings. Could it be my adapter that's causing this problem?

Solution

The adapter is usually providing 19 volts but you must check this for your laptop. Try another adapter. What laptop is it? All i can think of as alternatice is that it underperforms through an application when plugged in order not to shorten the life span of the battery. Check again your power options. If it has a dedicated graphics card make sure it is always selected as primary

From the title and the first sentence. Can you please do a better job of explaining what's going on? Though I admit I'm at a loss if the laptop performs worse when plugged in. Either the power plan isn't the same, or as suggested above the adapter isn't providing enough juice. Try setting the power plan again? How much slower are we talking about?
