I mistakenly updated a setting in the BIOS and now my laptop won't boot. I get a black screen and several beeps. The BIOS is a white list removed and advanced settings BIOS, not the Lenovo BIOS.

I've searched the internet and found how to fix a bad BIOS update but it didn't work for this problem.

Any suggestions other than a new mother board?

Thanks

Most Lenovo laptops have a BIOS flashback button that allows them to revert to the factory BIOS settings and reinstalls Windows. It's a small button with an arrow pointing backwards on it.

The problem is that the T420 is old, so it might not have this button. In that case, I cannot help you other then suggesting that you send the laptop back to Lenovo or just simply buying a new laptop.

I've done this in the past and found that sending it back to Lenovo is the best option (if you're wondering what I did, I set the amount of allocated iGPU RAM to 2 GB).
