I was looking at getting the Edifier R1280T powered bookshelf speakers (Amazon link and manual) however, the 3.5mm to RCA cable doesn't seem to be compatible with my motherboard, as my motherboard does not have a 3.5mm port for the cable to plug into. My motherboard is the Asus Prime B250-Plus (Amazon link since Asus website isn't working for me).

If you go to the Amazon link for the motherboard and look at the ports (fifth picture), there are analog connectors, but no 3.5mm port. Am I missing something or does the 3.5mm connector plug into somewhere else? If it does plug into somewhere else, where would it be?

Solution
Yes the cable is compatible, the green, blue, pink round ports on the motheerboard are the 3.5mm audio jacks, you connect the green 3.5mm cable to the green port on the moherboard.

Not sure where the confusion coming from, those blue-green-pink holes ARE 3.5mm ports.

there are analog connectors, but no 3.5mm port.
3.5mm ports ARE analog. Don't know where you getting your information.

So YES, do it. That cable is fine.
