AC adapter not charging my laptop

I have a Acer aspire 5349 and the ac adapter has stopped charging the laptop completely but before it would stop randomly and work with different plugs but now it barely ever works at all.. where do i go with that. do i just buy a new adapter or what?

if you can, try another charger with the laptop, it could be the laptop what failed, so you could end with two working chargers and a damaged laptop, or the contrary, try the charger on another laptop to see if it works, since it is a acer, you need to find a compatible acer laptop or charger to test both the laptop or the chager

if the power plug soilder joint is broken you can short power to the mb and burn it out. if the unit under warranty rma it.
