Hopefully I'm posting this in the right place, if not please move it!

Currently one week into waiting for a new Lenovo ThinkPad E470 configured with a FHD screen, Intel SSD and 940MX graphics chip. Previously, I used a mid-2012 MacBook Pro until the keyboard broke.

I hope moving back to Windows is a smooth enough process. Windows 10 looks great, after removing a few useless touch apps via PowerShell of course! I'm gaining a full HD screen which I've never had before as well as discrete graphics. The only game I play is Minecraft so hopefully it'll cope with that no problem! Other than that, Office and lots of reading for university which is why I went for a ThinkPad as coming from a Mac it's difficult to adapt to the likes of HP etcs efforts in the trackpad department and Lenovo are seemingly praised for the TP keyboards.

Something I also learnt from the MBP experience was due to Apple not allowing genuine replacement parts I wanted to make sure I'd never end up in the same situation again should I be out of warranty and in need of a repair. I was able to fit a few eBay keyboards to my MBP successfully but none of them lasted more than a few minutes before showing a failure or inconsistent operation... apparently theyre refurbished and professionally cleaned. Not new at all! Apple wanted £240 for the repair which I was willing to part with but gave only a 90 day warranty on their work which was no good. Lenovo has guaranteed me that for the next 5 years they will be supplying parts for the laptop I ordered and told me the prices of a few parts that compare very well vs. the Mac.

The only problem so far seems to be shipping. I think this is down to the custom hardware configuration.. I'm one week in and so far I've received a fittedd sleeve which I ordered with the laptop. The machine itself is yet to be built. It seems quite annoying in this day and age, but the only think making me wait is considering the size and business of Lenovo they must have thousands of orders at a time. I hope it's worth the wait.

I've started moving stuff from iCloud Drive to OneDrive. Thinking of closing down all my online accounts and moving to a non tracking / privacy respecitng cloud and email solution but am yet to find one.

Anybody else made a similar transition?
