Hello! I'm trying to connect my Toshiba 55G310U TV with my Toshiba DKR40KU DVD recorder. I have connected them with an HDMI cable. When I try to record I'm not getting any picture or sound. I have my TV connected to an indoor antenna. I don't see any connections on the back of the DVD-R recorder for an antenna. I don't know if that is the problem or exactly what? I have looked at the manuals for the TV and the DVD recorder. I have not found an answer, I would appreciate any help you could give me!!!

Solution
The HDMI output of the DVD recorders is for playback only..
You can't record from the TV since it has no video outputs. Since the recorder doesn't have a tuner built in, if you want to record from over the air TV, you will need to get an external ATSC tuner or converter box and split the antenna to connect to the TV and external tuner. The tuner will need AV outputs to connect to the DVD recorder inputs.

Thank you, as you can tell I know nothing about this! I have a box connected to the antenna and TV that has 4 TV connections, I'm assuming that I can use one of those for the tuner? Any suggestions for the least expensive tuner or converter box?
