Been reading these forums a while but never posted.
Hoping someone can help here: been given an old Toshiba 40XF355D to see if I can try and get it to work right. The issue was that it was getting intermittent rainbow lines on just one side of the display (far right side).
I unplugged the cables going into the t con while the TV was unplugged, gave it a blow and plugged it back in and nothing was resolved.
I jiggled the cables a bit while the TV was still on and the whole screen went blank. I turned it off and on again and now I get a lovely rainbow display of colours across the whole screen.
Is this the sign of a bad T con? Did I kill it completely by jiggling the cables while the TV was still on?
Should I attempt to change the t con or just strip this for parts? Someone on eBay local to me is selling a T con for £7 that I can pick up.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
