KRK Rokit 8s not louder than 5s

Hi
I had a pair of krk rokit 5s and were pretty satisfied with them but were looking for a little more low end and a louder volume so I bought a used pair of krk rokit 8s off ebay, After I tested them I concluded that the rokit 8s are not any louder than the 5s even thought they look twice as big. They have a lot more bass but overall are not louder (dB) than the 5s. Thats just the way I feel. Did I expect too much from them or could there be something wrong with them? I

larger speaker enclosures just increase the low frequency (bass) response, they won't increase the volume if they are connected to the same amplifier you were using with your 5s speakers. It's the amplifier that determines the volume.

Im using a focusrite scarlett 2i2 audio interface. Is there a way to make them louder? Dont get me wrong they are already pretty loud but I'm just curious. So In order to make them louder I have to get a different interface?

I can't answer that, I'm not familiar with recording interfaces which is what th focusrite scarlett 2i2 is.

I see the rokit speakers have a built-in, mains-powered amp, have you checked the position of the volume knob on the rear panel of the main 8s speaker?
