Speakers and headphones not having sound what can I do solve it

Speakers as in the built in speakers on the laptop are not working or only external ones are not? It's not simply muted is it? Look in Device Drivers, make sure the audio device is there with no errors. Try a BIOS update from Dell's support site and also install the Audio drivers from there again even if they are the same version as what you have installed now.
