I'm trying to partition my Windows 7 Toshiba with 16.4 Ubuntu to learn the basics of linux required for running a Zcash/Ethuereum mining rig.
I have created a bootable USB using Rufus, and a bootable DVD with the same iso - but the laptop will not boot from either the CD drive, or either USB port.
In order to make the laptop boot from USB I have read posts regarding altering options in the bios (current have InsydeH20 v2.1 rev3.5 installed) - such as 'Switch the Boot Mode in BIOS from UEFI to CSM', but I do not have the options under the Bios settings to make these changes. They are simply just not there.
This procedure is also recommended on the forum here - New Toshiba Satellite - can't boot from CD or USB .
Can someone please show me how I can get to these options in my Bios? Or suggest an alternative which I may be able to use to solve the issue?
Thanks, ff
