Starting to have issues with the plug-in port and need the computer to run the farm.

My exact model is a X75A-XH52. Having trouble finding that exact machine, so can I get away with any X75A, be able to pull the hard drive out of my old machine, plug it into my new machine, and be merrily on my way?

Solution
There are so many versions of systems that you need to look at the exact specs of them to know. If the CPU is the same socket, then you have a good chance of it working.

And I guess that is the essence of the question. Do the numerous versions of laptop that are model ASUS X75A-**** have the same motherboard in common?

Just finished a chat with ASUS, all of the X75A models have the same motherboard so it looks like I'm in business. Thanks for helping me sort it out. I have some proprietary software that balks at running on anything newer than win7 (it really doesn't even like that platform) so I have to keep some variation of a win7 machine running. Seemed the easiest way to go about that was this way.
